USS Chattanooga (CL-118) was a planned Fargo-class light cruiser of the United States Navy. The Chattanooga was to be built by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company in Newport News, Virginia. Her keel was laid on 9 October 1944. The Chattanooga was cancelled on 12 August 1945 before being launched.[1] She was originally to have been named Norfolk but was renamed Chattanooga on 18 August 1944.[2]
