The Tyrrell Historical Library is a public library in Beaumont, Texas.
Originally built in 1903 and serving as the First Baptist Church, the building was purchased in 1923 by Captain W. C. Tyrrell and subsequently donated to the city. The library opened in 1926 and served as the main public library until 1974, at which point it was renamed the "Tyrrell Historical Library". Eventually remodeled in 1990, the building displays a mix of Richardsonian Romanesque and Victorian Gothic architectures, with pointed arch windows and quatrefoils, and also retains all of its original stained glass. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and also as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. [1][2]
The library maintains a hallmark Texana collection and also an extensive set of genealogical archives.
