Twinnie-Lee Moore

Twinnie-Lee Moore (born 18 August 1987) is a British actress who has been seen in West End ensembles and starred in a touring version of the musical Chicago. She appeared on stage was in Flashdance The Musical at the Shaftesbury Theatre, which closed on 15 January and is currently appearing in Rock Of Ages at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London.

Early life

Moore was born in York in 1987. Her love for theatre was demonstrated at an early age when she began performing in pantomimes held at the Grand Opera House, York. Following this, Moore then went on to join the theatre's Summer Youth Project, where she earned roles such as Bet in Oliver! and Lily in Annie. In 2003, Moore won her first leading role with the Summer Youth Project, cast as Dorothy Gale in the production of The Wizard of Oz.

Career

Theatre

After completing her three year course at Phil Winston's Theatre Works, Moore landed ensemble roles in We Will Rock You and Desperately Seeking Susan on the West End. She then earned the lead role as Ariel Moore in the 2008 tour of the musical Footloose. Moore then took part in Sean Peter's musical workshop, Everything's Fucked.

In 2009, Moore was cast as murderess Velma Kelly in the 2009/10 touring version of the Kander and Ebb musical, Chicago. She then appeared in A Chorus Line, which ran for ten days in May 2010 at the Lowry in Manchester.

After A Chorus Line, Moore then returned to her hometown of York, where she led three West End dance workshops for age groups 6 - 11 year olds, 12 - 21 year olds and 21 years old and above at York Dance Works.

Moore was cast as Jazmin in Flashdance The Musical for its Shaftesbury Theatre production opening on October 2010.[1] Moore plays a Latina, one of three friends who dance in a club, who together "sing practically the whole show". It was later announced that Moore would not only understudy actress Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, who played lead Alex Owens, but would also perform as the lead every Saturday matinee. According to an interview, the plan was for year-long contracts for all the original cast, and an original cast recording was also planned. However, the show closed on 15 January 2011.

Moore starred in the West End premiere of Rock of Ages in the ensemble and played the lead roles of Sherrie and Justice on many occasions, which opened on 31 August 2011 at the Shaftesbury Theatre and left the production at cast change in September 2012

Television

Moore appeared in Colleen McLoughlin's Real Women on ITV before she had to pull out due to acting commitments. In 2012, Moore appeared on The Voice UK on BBC One.

Moore played Nikki Allcott in Doctors which aired on BBC One on 29 July 2013.

In August 2014, it was announced that Moore would be joining the cast of Hollyoaks as Porsche McQueen. [2] She made her first appearance on 4 November 2014. The character will highlight the issues of sexual abuse in children in 2015.

Music

One of Moore's songs has been recorded by German Pop Idol winners. Moore will release an album of her own material in 2013.
