Twin Peaks is an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2009. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Cadien Lake James, guitarist Clay Frankel, bassist Jack Dolan and drummer Connor Brodner.

History

The band was formed by Cadien Lake James in 2009 while all the members were in high school. The album was released in 2013 through Los Angeles-based independent record label Autumn Tone Records. After graduating from high school, all band members except Frankel attended Evergreen College in Olympia, but later dropped out to pursue their music career. Returning to Chicago, the band began working on their second studio album. Their second album, Wild Onion, was released by the Grand Jury label in 2014.[1]

Musical style

The band's musical style is regarded as a mixture of "'60s garage rock and the 2010s garage punk sound."[1] Jayson Greene of Pitchfork stated that the band "spends half their time as a chugging power chord factory and half as a winsome power-pop band."[2] The band's musical style on their debut album has been described as "sloppy, Replacements-inspired rock" while the band's second album features "a garage-rock sound that touches on everything from fuzz-soaked psychedelia and punk to ballads and baroque pop."[3] The band's influences on the album include garage rock acts such as Jay Reatard, Ty Segall and the Strokes,[4] and rock artists such as Beatles, Stooges, and Stones.[5]
