Notes
- This was the only release confirmed that Nick Thomas and Chris Salih worked on besides a few singles before their departure from the band.
- After the debut album, the band's general sound and genre changed profoundly, notably from a much darker sound to a lighter sound.
- The spiritual overtones and Christian metaphors that have been found throughout the band's music career are seen more obvious on the debut album than on any of their following releases.
- According to Tyler Joseph, "The Pantaloon" was written about his grandfather (who is featured on the cover for their 2012 album, Vessel).[7]
- Before this release, the only published work of the band was their original demo CD which they gave away for free at their early concerts. The release contained four songs (three of which can be found on their self-titled album): "Johhny Boy", "Air Catcher", "Time To Say Goodbye", and "Friend, Please".[8]
- "Time To Say Goodbye" was originally intended to be on the self-titled release, but was retracted in the final format due to copyright reasons[8] (as the track features pieces of "Con te partirò" by Andrea Bocelli).[9] It was however released later for free download on the band's SoundCloud account, though the download option has since been pulled.[10]
