Tuvalu Independence Cup
The Independence Cup is a competition organized by the Tuvalu National Football Association (TNFA). The competition is held on Funafuti on 1 October of each year ('Independence Day') and has been organized since 1988,.[1]
History
In 1988 was the first tournament, then was the name Ten Anniversary of Tuvalu Independence Tournament (TATI). Held every 2 years, also in 1990. In 1991 was the year the airfield was tar-sealed and soccer tournaments on the capital Funafuti came to a standstill. The TATI Tournament was resumed in 1998. And kept every year now.[2]
