Turlandi (Pashto: ترلاندی) is a village near Shewa Adda and a Union Council in Swabi District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

History
The name Turlandi is a modified form of the name Toolanday (Pashto: تولاندے) as used today. It is one of the oldest villages of the area with diverse Pukhtoon/Pashtun cultural bonds. The nearby villages to the East and South, like Tarakai, Rashkai, Bachayay, a part of Managai village, khwaja and Kaludher have originated from this village.

The main tribes (clans) dwelling in Turlandi are Ali khan khel,Dawran Khel, Amir Khel, Qabool Khel,Sundi Khel, Janam Muhammad Khel,Babi khel and Buran Khel,Pacher Khel . Turlandi is the place in the region where peace, tranquility and hospitality makes a winning combination. The literacy rate is relatively better and increasing rapidly.
Source of income
People of turlandi earn their livings by agricultures and small businesses but mostly attached with services.
Culture
Turlandians are culturally well. They eat simple foods, wear simple clothes like “shalwar kameez”. They are hospitable. “Black tea” is always offered to the guests for which Turlandians are famous in the region.
Trace back to the past
“khudayi hidmatgar” movement was firstly started from Turlandi in (1884) by president “bashaani”. The movement is still continue under the supervision of some persons (“khudayi hidmatgars”) like Amir Muhammad baba, khan alam baba, Taj Muhammad baba and Aman khan baba etc. The tragic part of the movement was when the people of Turlandi fight for the first time against English people and 19 persons were expired.
A political glance towards Turlandi
The former Indian prime minister “Jawahar lal Nehru” along with his daughter visited Turlandi and tried to get the favor of pakhtoons. Similarly liaqat ali khan also visited turlandi and convince the people to vote for Pakistan. Zulfiqar ali Bhutto also visited turlandi and meet deputy Muhammad zaman. Allama mashriqi and bacha khan also visited to this village.
Additional data
Famous love couple yousaf khan and shehr bano also associated with this village. The first Pashto film was “Yousaf khan and Shehr bano” shooted in turlandi. People of turlandi say that the tomb of Ayaz who was the general of King Mahmud Ghznavi also situated in turlandi but proofs are not available. The tomb is called “nadaan baba” in present
