Professional career
The most notable bout of his career came on April 4th 2014 against hard-punching middleweight contender Curtis Stevens. Stevens was looking to rebuild his career after losing to WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin via eighth round stoppage. Tureano surprised everyone when he dominated the proceedings, outboxing and outhustling the veteran Stevens with ease. However in the tenth and final round, Stevens would catch Johnson with his signature left hook and Johnson fell back into the ropes. The referee controversially stopped the bout, and many felt that Johnson was covering up well despite being clearly hurt.
Since that bout Johnson has picked up four more wins, including winning the vacant WBC middleweight silver belt against Alex Theran.
