Tunde Banjoko

Tunde Banjoko OBE (born May 1963) is a British charity director.

He was awarded an OBE in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honours for his services to employment and training.[1] He is a former pupil of the Royal Wolverhampton School.

Local Employment Access Projects

Banjoko was the founder and chief executive of LEAP (Local Employment Access Projects), a registered charity which aimed to increase the employment chances and self-esteem of people from disadvantaged communities.

LEAP was established in 1996 and was loosely based on the American STRIVE model. It used workshops to teach students the right attitudes and behaviour to succeed in the job market. People who finished this programme had a 70% chance of securing a job compared with a 30% chance for those completing the government's new deal initiative.[2]

Making the Leap

LEAP has now legally changed its name to Making the Leap. It no longer uses the STRIVE model and is now a youth and social mobility charity.
