Tulipeae
The Tulipeae (syn. Tulipoideae) (Duby)[1] were a tribe of monocotyledon perennial, herbaceous mainly bulbous flowering plants in the Liliaceae (Lily) family.[2]
The tribe contained four genera as conceived by Takhtadzhi︠an: [3]
- Tulipa
- Amana (now considered to be Tulipa)
- Holongia
- Erythronium
Later only Tulipa and Erythronium were included. It has been considered either a tribe of the subfamily Lilioideae, or a subfamily of Liliaceae itself (Tulipoideae).[4]
