Tu Tu Main Main, (Hindi: तू तू में में ), was an Indian television comedy series which aired on Doordarshan and later STAR Plus (after 1996) directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar.[1] The title Tu Tu Main Main is phrase in Hindi meaning arguments and bickering.[2] The series was first premiered on Doordarshan's DD Metro Channel, where it ended in 1995, thereafter it was taken up by STAR Plus in 1996, Star plus brings new season of 'Tu Tu Main Main' as a Tu Tu Main Main 2000 series,in all it ran for 11 years. It also had rerun on 9X, STAR Utsav, and BIG Magic. After its success, a sequel to the serial with same themes and extended cast, Kadvee Khatti Meethi (2006) was also directed by Sachin.[3] It is dubbed in Tamil and is being telecast in Raj TV as Bhama Vijayam.

Episode Title: Tooth ache

Radha wants to sleep late in the morning. She pretends that she has a tooth ache. Devki suggests her to see a dentist Dr. Batliwala. Devki convinces her that the dentist won't hurt her and that it won't pain. Radha gets scared looking at the drill and refuses to open her mouth. Devki tells her that she would sit in her place and show her that it won't pain.

When Devki opens her mouth, the dentist realises that Devki herself has a big hole in one tooth and that she should be treated first. Doctor goes out of his room. In the meanwhile, fighting with each other, they open up a cylinder. Due to the gas emitted they feel as if they are drunk and they start laughing. They create a mess over there. Finally, the dentist comes, takes control over them and replaces their teeth.

Episode Title: Gambling

Rupa comes home. She says that her best friend who is married to a very rich man has called her for her birthday party. Devki gives Radha's gold set, saree and lots of money to Rupa before going as she is going to a rich friend's house. After some time, Rupa returns home empty handed saying that she lost everything gambling against Mrs. Chordia.

Devki says that this happened because she never taught Rupa how to play cards. She teaches her to play cards, but all in vain. She takes Rupa to Mrs. Chordia and herself plays against her. Devki plays as if she has never played cards in her life and finally, when Mrs. Chordia bets for the same Gold chain, Devki wins. They, then get back all their money.

Episode Title: Twin Marriage

Padma comes to invite Devki and Radha for her younger son's marriage. She also asks them to make place for her guests at Devki's house. Next day, two twin girls who are Padma's husband's relatives come and after that two twin boys who are Padma's relatives come and then lot of other relatives come. All relatives trouble them a lot. The two twin girls fall in love with the two twin boys. Finally, the mother of the girls and the father of the boys also come who are each other's enemies and kept nagging at each other.

Episode Title: Dreamland Radha's friends are going to different places to enjoy. Radha says that she would love to go to her dreamland. She can go anywhere and spend as much as she wants in her dreams. So, Radha goes to sleep. In her dreams, Radha is at a very beautiful place with her husband Ravi. But, she finds that Devki is also there, troubling her and interfering in her privacy. Only Radha can see her and talk to her. Ravi scolds Radha when he finds her talking to herself.

Finally, Devki wakes her up and gives two tickets; for Radha and for Ravi to go abroad.


Episode Title: 31 December

Chandan has invited Devki, father-in-law, Radha and her husband for celebrating New Year. Chandan and his wife Guddi pick them from their house. When everybody reaches Chandan's house, Guddi and Chandan realize that both of them do not have the keys. Guddi remembers that she had left a duplicate key at her neighbour's place, but the neighbours have gone for a ten-day holiday. They decide to play Antakshari by the time. While they were playing, Chandan notices light in the neighbour's house. When they all go there, they see that a thief is trying to open the cupboard.

They catch hold of the thief and ask him to open Chandan's door. The thief tries hard but he could not open the door. A constable comes there. The thief asks him to take him away as he was fed of these people. Radha, the, asks Devki to imagine that the lock is Radha's face and to slap it as hardly as possible. Devki does and the lock unlocks. They all get in. It is sharp 12. They celebrate New Year.

Episode Title: 3-minute shopping

Devki and Radha go shopping to a Super Market. Devki teaches Radha how to purchase the right and good product at a reasonable price. When they go to the counter to pay, they are informed that they are the 10,000th customer. So, they get an offer that coming Sunday at 10 a.m, they can pick up whatever they want for three minutes and take it home free of cost. Devki plans the entire schedule of how and what will they shop in three minutes. She teaches it to Radha and says that they will pick up all the costly things and then sell it off and with that money Devki will buy an A/C. As said, they go and pick too many things in three minutes. They sell everything and get lot of money. Eventually, they end up fighting over who will spend the money.

Episode Title: Devki's Birthday

Tomorrow is Devki's birthday. She plans to give one-one gift to everybody. Next morning, Devki is ready in the morning wearing her new saree. But, nobody remembers that its her birthday today. Everybody is busy with their own work. Devki is very upset over this. She goes to the temple and expresses her grief to God. When she comes back home completely sad and depressed and opens the door, she finds the whole house decorated and everybody sings a birthday song for her and gives her gifts. They sing and dance and cut the cake. Episode Title: Suicide

Radha and Devki fight with each other and Radha goes to her house. But she returns after an hour. Radha says that she had been to the police station to lodge a complaint that if anything happens to me, then Devki should be held responsible for it. Radha terrifies Devki with the thoughts of police coming, arresting her and hanging her to death. Devki gets scared and listens to everything what Radha orders. Radha keeps a bottle of poison with her and always scares Devki by showing it to her. Next day, an inspector comes to their house to make a call.

Radha opens the door. She says that she needs to ask Devki's permission. Devki also comes there at that time. She feels that Radha has called him and so she gets scared. Later on, she comes to know the fact. Finally, Devki gets so fed up that she tells Radha to drink the poison. Radha drinks it, but nothing happens. Radha than reveals that it was duplicate poison.

Episode Title - Best Mother in law - daughter in law Bold text Devki takes Radha along with her to get their photographs clicked for the "Best mother-in-law & daughter-in-law" competition. In the studio, a lady comes with her two dogs to get her dogs' photograph clicked. She loved and cuddled her dogs very much. Devki- Radha photograph gets exchanged with the dogs' photograph, which they realize when they come home. They also search for the lady, but don't find her. The registration for the competition would get over within 15 minutes. So, they go to the registration office and fill up the form.

Instead of their photograph, they stick the dogs' photograph. Then they come to know that the lady who is conducting the event was the lady with the dogs. She is very happy on receiving the photograph. She declares them as winners.


Episode Title: The Magical Jar

Ravi brings home a jar from an auction. Later, they realize that the jar is magical. Just say 'Kaash' and wish for anything and your wish would come true. Then, a man comes to their home searching for the jar. He tells them that the jar does not like non-violence. If you fight in front of the jar for more than 30 seconds, the jar will break. With the help of the jar, Ravi, Devki and Radha make that man disappear because he was asking for the jar. As usual, Devki and Radha keep on fighting, but they have to stop their arguments within 30 seconds. They find it very difficult to fight within a limitation of 30 seconds. So, finally they fight for 30 seconds and break the jar.

Episode Title: Ad Film 'Devki and Radha are selected for an ad film of tea. Devki is the main model and Radha a side actress. Devki behaves as if she is a big model and teaches Radha how to act. She starts preparing for the fame that she is going to get and to give autographs. Next day, during the shoot, she does everything extra, changes the lines in the script and interferes in the director's job. This irritates him. He ends up making Radha the main model and the Ad is released.

Episode Title: Driving License

Padma Maasi comes home to show Kumud's (padma's daughter-in-law) driving license. Padma taught driving to Kumud and also got a driving license for her. Devki bets for Rs. 500/= that she would also teach Radha to drive and get her a driving license within 10 days. Devki teaches her to drive and the rules of driving, but it does not work. They go to the R.T.O and somehow get the license made. Devki wins Rs. 500/= from the bet. She asks Radha for the car keys and Radha replies that she has safely kept it inside the car and locked the car.

Episode Title: Saas-Bahu fight

Devki and Radha fight with each other. Devki angrily leaves the house and goes to Padma's house. Devki says that unless Radha does not come and apologize to her, she won't go back. Kumud comes there and tells that a daughter-in-law will never say sorry to a mother-in-law. Radha and Kumud tell this to everybody and every Saas-Bahu in the society start fighting. When Kumud fights Devki doesn't like it and when Radha fights with Padma, Kumud does not like it. Finally, they realize that they love each other so much.

Episode Title: Hunting Fever

Radha, Devki, Ravi and father-in-law go hunting in the forest. Father and Ravi argue with Radha and Devki saying that hunting is not a woman's job. Devki-Radha decide they will prove that women can hunt. Devki-Radha take the gun and run away. When they were waiting for an animal, a snake falls on them. They get scared and run away. Devki falls into a pit and Radha's leg gets trapped in an angle. Father and Ravi find them and save them.

They, once again run away with the gun. They see a deer and also hear someone playing a dholak. The deer follows the music and Devki-Radha follow the deer. The deer goes beside the man who was playing the dholak. They ask the man what was happening. Some years ago, somebody killed a deer and left its body there. This man tore its skin and made the dholak. The deer that came just now is the dead deer's son who remembers his mother through that dholak.

Episode Title: R.R.Verma

Radha calls herself R.R.Verma (Radha Ravi Verma) when she goes out to post a letter. After some while, postman comes and gives a letter, which has the name To, Shri R.R.Verma without the name of the sender. The address was their address, but it was Shri. The letter mentioned that if you don't come by 15th, I'll commit suicide. Devki-Radha advertise for Shri R.R.Verma. Next day, 66 R.R.Vermas in the city came to them. They found out the right one and handed over the letter to him.

Episode Title: Ideal Housewife

Tomorrow is the 'Uttam Grihini' (Ideal Housewife) Contest and Devki is preparing Radha for it, as the winner of this contest will get a chance to give a speech. Devki teaches Radha for the whole night not letting her sleep.

Next morning, both of them get up late and Radha reaches half-an-hour late for the exam. Mrs. Kapoor, who has been winning this competition for the last two years, has already finished the exam and is ready to leave. She does not prefer answering the oral bonus question of 2 marks, as she is very confident of winning this competition this year as well. After the paper correction, Devki and Radha realize that Radha has lost because for this exam, though both Mrs. Kapoor and Radha have scored 100/100, but Mrs. Kapoor's overall average is 1 mark more than Radha.

Radha answers the bonus question carrying 2 marks and wins the contest. Now, Radha has to give a speech. In her speech, Radha thanks her mother-in-law for giving her all possible support and guidance and being her major inspiration.

Episode Title: Women's Cricket Tournament

There is going to be an inter-society women's cricket tournament. Devki has arranged for the selection of the team members at her place. Both Devki and Radha are very confident of their own selection and doubtful about the other one's inclusion in the team.

They bet that if both of them get selected, then whoever plays well will pay Rs. 3000/= to the other one. Devki is not selected in the team, but yet, she has left all the work and is practicing cricket in the house. On the day of the match, Radha was the last batsman. When it was her turn, the requirement was 4 runs in 1 ball.

Instead, Radha gives the bat to Devki and asks her to bat. Devki hits a six and they win the match. A little while after they reach home, a man comes to their house and asks for the person who hit the last six. Devki proudly comes forward. He says that the ball has broken the glass of his imported car and asks for a compensation of Rs. 3,500.

Episode Title: Parrot

Devki wants to do papad-selling business for which she wants Radha to prepare papads. But, Radha has brought home a parrot and she is busy teaching it to talk. Devki does not like the parrot.

She keeps on abusing it. Radha names it 'Harihar'. One day, on returning home after purchasing guava for the parrot, Radha finds that the cage is left open and Harihar is missing. Radha feels sad and depressed. She decides to tell a mantra in order to call Harihar back. She keeps on repeating it and Harihar comes back.

Episode Title: Gossip Party

Radha has secretly called all her friends home as Devki is going to her brother's house at 3 PM. Devki comes to know of this. There are few minutes left for 3 and Devki is delaying. Radha is worried, as Devki is not going out of the house. Finally, Devki gets out of the house. She only pretends to be gone and instead, peeps into the house through the window. All the daughters-in-law of the neighbourhood have come to her house.

They are happily singing and dancing and talking about their mothers-in-law. Each one of them describe their mother-in-law in the worst possible way they could. When it was Radha's turn, she says that we should respect and love our mother-in-law the way we love our own mother. Hearing this, tears flow through Devki's eyes.

Episode Title: Sridevi fever

Ravi takes Radha and Devki along with him for his friend's wedding anniversary. One of his friends Shailendra Kashyap is a hypnotist. Radha challenges him that she has a strong will power and hypnotism doesn't work on her. Shailendra says he would hypnotize her.

Devki asks him to turn her to Sridevi. While he was hypnotizing Radha, Devki was besides her. Unknowingly, Devki gets hypnotized and Radha is normal and nobody realizes it.

Now, whenever a bell rings, Devki turns to Sridevi and gets back to normal if the bell is rung once again. Devki-Radha go to make their joint life insurance policy. The telephone bell rings and Devki becomes Sridevi. She quotes 2 crores as the policy amount. Radha comes to know of this fever. Ravi and Radha immediately call Shailendra and once again turn her to Devki Verma forever.

Episode Title: Expert Cooking Radha has joined cooking classes conducted by Mrs. Philomina. Devki also tries to prepare new dishes like Radha, but she fails. Devki also plans to join the same cooking classes. When she joins, Mrs. Philomina says that a new teacher is going to teach them.

Radha enters the classroom as the new teacher. She asks all the students to bring a new recipe. At home, Devki is behind Radha asking her for her favourite dish, so that she can bring its recipe. After lot of investigation, Devki finds out that 'Palak Paneer' is Radha's favourite dish. Next day, Radha fails everyone in the classroom. Mrs. Philomina scolds Radha saying that all the recipes were good and that Devki Verma's recipe was the best one.

Episode Title: Duplicate

Radha was returning late night from a kirtan. On the way, she sees someone like Devki shooting a man. Radha gets scared and becomes speechless. She starts running away from Devki. Devki somehow puts Radha to sleep. She and father-in-law feel that some evil spirit has entered her body. The killer woman is also in search of Radha because Radha was a witness to her crime. Radha locks Devki inside a room and narrates the whole incident to father-in-law.

They plan to call the police. When they open the door, the killer was standing outside. Father-in-law thinks that she is Devki. Radha fights with her and realizes that she is not Devki. They make a plan and get her arrested.

Episode Title: Bad shot

Radha, Ravi, Devki and Father-in-law were playing carrom. Devki hits the queen and it sways outside the window and hits a man's forehead. He forgets everything and comes to their house. Devki decides to take him out for a walk and leave him somewhere.

But after a while, he returns back. They also click his photograph and advertise about him. They try hard to get his memory back and are fed up of him. Once when everyone in the house was watching T.V., he sprays a perfume due to which everyone gets unconscious. When they get up, they find that the man is missing, but everything inside their house is safe. After a while, two men bring him back to their house.

He then narrates his story that he has lost his family in an accident. He like Devki's family and so he was staying with them as his motto in life is to spread love.

Episode Title: 3 hours 36 minutes Radha meets a sadhu who tells her that either she the person closest to her will die within the next 3 hours and 36 minutes starting from 11a.m. If Radha is around Devki for that time, then her life would be in danger. Several times, Radha saves Devki from accident, hammer falling on her head etc. Radha feels bad that because of her, Devki is in danger.

Sadhu tells her that she should stay away from Devki till 2.36 PM. Radha goes to the top of a tower and decides to stay there till 2.36 PM. Devki is searching for Radha. In the meanwhile, Radha discovers that the sadhu was a fraud. The police come there and he is arrested.

Episode Title: Clean House Contest

Devki and Radha read in the newspaper that there is a 'Clean House Contest'. Mrs. Anjana Parekh would visit everyone's house and whosever's house would be the most clean would win a cash prize of Rs. 51,000/=. Devki-Radha clean each other's room and the entire house is absolutely clear.

After cleaning their house they quietly move about in their locality and drop garbage into other's houses through the window and letter hole. When they return home, they find that somebody has messed up their house. Once again they clean their house. Finally they sit down to relax and read the newspaper. To their surprise they realize that the newspaper in which they read about the contest was an old one.


Episode Title: Devki's Novel

Devki's lucky pen with which she wrote a novel is missing. When she learns that Radha has broken it, she gets angry and tells that she won't talk to Radha. Radha's brother Kailash who is an inspector comes to see her and forgets to take back his handcuffs.

He is going to his native place. When Devki refuses to forgive Radha she locks her hand with that of Devki's using the handcuffs. Finally Devki forgives her. When Radha was opening the handcuff, the keys break and their hands remain locked. Devki has to meet the publisher. They go to meet him in that same condition.

The publisher clicks their photograph. Next day, the publisher comes home, gives a cheque to Devki and informs her that he is publishing her novel. He shows them the photograph and tells that the photograph is for the cover page. When Radha calls up Kailash, she is informed that Kailash will be returning only after 15 days.
