Rajkumar (2013)[7] and "Teri Saanson Mein" from Karle Pyaar Karle (2014).[8] On 10 February 2014, Singh was snapped along with composer Palash Muchhal and co-singer Palak Muchhal recording the song at a studio.[9]

Critical reception

The song received mostly positive reaction from the music critics. Most of the critics picked the duet version over the other two versions of the song.

Joginder Tuteja from Movie Talkies praised the vocals by Arijit Singh and composition by Palash Muchhal and commented: "Whether it is the mukhda, antara, intermittent portions, core arrangements or the flow of the composition, he does quite well and effectively utilizes Arijit's voice to ensure that 'Tu Hi Hai Aashiqui' would be played for many more months to come.[22] Reviewers from Bollywood Cine Talk felt the song is similar to "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2 (2013) and stated: "Lyrics are beautifully written by the director of the film. And Arijit Singh shines like a diamond in these types of romantic track".[23] Its Box Office's Jyoti Prakash commented: "The lyrics are nice and simple, the tune is pleasing and add to that Arijit and Palak’s fabulous singing, we definitely have a winner up our sleeves here".[24]

Though, film received negative response from film critics, the song was mentioned as a positive contribution in the film. Namrata Thakker from Bollywood Life selected the song as the best part of the film.[25] Reviewers from India TV criticised the overall film, but they found the song "good", along with the composition by Palash Muchhal.[26]
