TruJet, formerly known as Turbo Megha Airways, is a regional airline based in Hyderabad, India.[1] The airline received approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) to start scheduled air services in July 2014 and is being promoted by Vankayalapati Umesh, a 45-year-old aviation engineer with interests in ground handling business and Actor Ram Charan Tej, son of former Union Minister K. Chiranjeevi.[2] Turbo Megha intends to initially focus its operations to destinations in South India. The airline is a subsidiary of Turbo Aviation, an aircraft maintenance and ground-handling services company based in Hyderabad.

Turbo Megha has identified 18 tier-II city airports in South India that it will begin operations to, including those at Vijayawada, Vizag, Tirupati, Rajahmundry, Kadapa, Coimbatore, Tuticorin and Salem.[3] The company has sought permission from the Indian Government to import two ATR aircraft in order to qualify for an air operator’s permit.[4] Operation launch approximately 2nd fortnight of May subject to DGCA approvals.
