Troy Honeysett is an Australian actor and dancer.[1][2][3][4] Honeysett is best known for his time with Australian Dance Theatre and his "ferocious athleticism" on stage.[5][6] He is also a graduate of Te Whaea, Wellington, New Zealand and the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney, Australia.[7][8][9]

Background

Honeysett was born in Alice Springs, Northern Territory and began ballet later in life, having proven himself a proficient gymnast and international martial arts competitor.[10][11] He became a Principal Dancer with Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) and during this time toured full-length dance works throughout Europe, The United States and Japan.[12][13] Honeysett left ADT to attend the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).[14][15][16]

Prior, Honeysett was hired as an acrobat for the filming of The Man from Snowy River: Arena Spectacular (film). He made other screen appearances in ABC Television's Artscape programs – Artists at Work: Australian Dance Theatre[17][18] and The Making of Collision Course.[19]

Honeysett also appeared in Seasons Two and Three of television series So You Think You Can Dance Australia with Guest Performances by Australian Dance Theatre, also assisting ADT's Associate Choreographer creating and teaching as Guest Choreographers.[20]
