Transdev WA is an Australian bus company operating services in Perth under contract to Transperth. It is a subsidiary of Transdev Australasia.


History

On 29 September 1996 Southern Coast Transit commenced operating services in the Rockingham area from depots in Mandurah and Rockingham with 57 Mercedes-Benz and Renault buses.[1][2][3] In July 1998 the Central Area Transit and Fremantle area services were added.[4] Southern Coast Transit was owned by Victorian bus operators the Donric Group and Skybus Super Shuttle.[5]

In 1999 it was sold to National Express[6] who in September 2004 sold it to Connex.[7][8] It was rebranded as Veolia Transport and in July 2013 as Transdev Perth, then later as Transdev WA.

As at December 2013 Veolia Transdev operate the Central Area Transit, Joondalup, Fremantle, Rockingham area contracts.[9][10]

Fleet

As at December 2013 the fleet consists of 483 buses.[11] In August 1997 two Denning double decker coaches were acquired from AAT Kings and Australian Pacific Touring to operate a Mandurah to Perth service.[12]

Depots

Transdev WA operate eight depots in East Perth, Joondalup, Mandurah, Nowergup, Palmyra, Perth, Rockingham and Wangara.
