Trương Thị May (born 1988) is a Vietnamese beauty pageant titleholder who was appointed as Miss Universe Vietnam 2013 and was represented her country at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant.[1][2]
Early life
May was born in 1988 at Phnom Penh to a Khmer Krom family. When she was a year old, her family returned to their family home in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang. May's family spoke Khmer at home,[3] and she has been practicing austere Buddhism as well as adhering to a strict vegetarian diet since she was 13.
Vietnamese Beauty Contests
Truong Thi May is 25 years old and stands 1.75 metres (5 ft 9 in). She was the former first runner-up of Miss Vietnam Ethnicity 2007. She was also the former runner-up in Miss Vietnam Photogenic 2006 pageant. May was appointed twice to represent Vietnam in Miss Earth pageant but missed both chances. In 2009, she had an accident just ahead of the contest. In 2011, she refused the invitation from Thanh Nien Corp., citing her busy schedule for acting and her grandmother’s sickness.
In 2014, PETA named her as Asia's Sexiest Female Vegetarian. [4]
Miss Universe Vietnam 2013
Truong Thi May has been selected by Unicorp, the license holder of Miss Universe Organization in Vietnam, she represented the country in the Miss Universe 2013 pageant.
