Cheimarrichthys fosteri, the torrentfish, is a species of perciform fish endemic to New Zealand. They are amphidromous, with the adults primarily inhabiting rivers, while the young can be found in the ocean. It grows to a maximum of 15 cm (5.9 in) in total length. This species is the only known member of both its genus and its family.[1]
