The Toronto Congress Centre (TCC) is the largest convention centre of its kind in Canada. It is located in Etobicoke, Ontario at 650 Dixon Road, near the Toronto Pearson International Airport and International Centre.
The convention centre opened in 1995 as the largest in Canada, with close to 500,000 square feet (46,000 m²) of exhibit space. However, it was surpassed by both the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (600,000 sq ft in 1997) and the International Centre (1 million sq ft in 2002), following various expansions and renovations at those venues.
The Toronto Congress Centre has since expanded its exhibit space to over 1 million square feet (90,000 m²) with the addition of a second building (a vacant industrial building purchased in 2006), north of the current building (referred to as the North Building). In early 2008, it regained its title as the largest convention centre in Canada.
The site is chosen for events based on its proximity to nearby hotels and Toronto Pearson International Airport versus rival downtown convention sites.
