Tomo Johannes in der Mühlen aka Tom Tom is a German-born music producer and DJ based in New York City and Zagreb.

Life

Tomo Johannes in der Muhlen ( born in Braunschweig Germany, but lives in New York City and Zagreb is a music producer, DJ and entrepreneur. Both of his parents Johannes Willhelm in der Mühlen and Stana Kovacic in der Mühlen where architects. Studied at MIOC XV Gymnasium computer science and continued at Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb Mathematics.

Tomo started as a Computer animation designer and coder for the famous quiz show Kviskoteka hosted by Oliver Mlakar, aired from 1977 to 1990s on Croatian Radiotelevision , later briefly aired on Nova TV.

Musical career

Tomo idM produced and performed live on productions from New York City, Los Angeles, Japan, Croatia, Italy and Serbia.

Kulušić

From 1987 to 1992 Tomo managed the bar at the infamous Youth centre Kulušić.

New York City

Tomo idM was part of the NYC scene in the 90' performing in legendary clubs Brownie's, CBGB, Mercury Lounge, The Pyramid Club, Don Hill’s, Roxy NYC, Lion's Den (nightclub), Downtime, Webster Hall.

IDM Music

In 1988 he founded IDM Music^[1] in Düsseldorf, Germany, a music publishing and rights management company which in 1992 relocated to New York City and merged with IC & M managed by Miriam Westercappel. Today IDM music has offices in New York City, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade and Warshaw. IDM music is known for the collaboration with Quentin Tarantino on his movies: Kill Bill Volume 1, Death Proof, Grind House, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained. IDM worked also on: Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, The Sopranos, Goodfellas and commercials for Microsoft, Dolce & Gabbana, Miller Brewing Company.

IDM also worked with: Rza, G-Unit, Gucci Mane, Beck, Redman (rapper), Justice (band), Flying Lotus

With IDM Music, Tomo in der Mühlen produced music for RTL Television, Vipnet, T-Mobile, Nova TV (Croatia) Central European Media Enterprises.

Tomo was one of the Judges on the Croatian 2014 version of Your Face Sounds Familiar - Tvoje lice zvuči poznato (Croatian season 1) format owned by Endemol as the executive music producer.

Currently working on the Croatian 2015 version of The Voice of Holland as the executive music producer.
