Tommy Karpency (born January 10, 1986) is an American professional boxer who fights in the light heavyweight division. He debuted pro boxing at the age of 20 and has spent the majority of his career boxing on the American circuit managing to win the regional WBA Fedecentro title in 2009.

He has boxed outside of the USA on two occasions, both times against two of his most notable opponents to date. First in Germany against Karo Murat and second against WBO title holder Nathan Cleverly in Cardiff, Wales. He lost both fights by unanimous decisions over 12 rounds.

Karpency vs. Dawson

On October 4, 2014 Karpency was matched up against former lineal light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson. Dawson had previously lost two consecutive bouts by stoppage against Andre Ward and Adonis Stevenson, and was attempting to rebuild his career. His most recent bout had been a first round knockout over George Blades, and Dawson was the heavy favorite coming into the fight. Karpency came in strong in the early rounds, landing strong combinations. Karpency faded a bit towards the end, allowing Dawson to land some strong jabs to keep the scorecards close. Karpency would ultimately win the ten round bout by split decision, giving him the biggest win of his career.
