Tom Leahy is a paralympic athlete from Ireland competing mainly in category BC2 Boccia events and F32 throwing events.
Biography
Tom has competed in seven Paralympic games across Boccia and Athletics winning a total of eight medals. His first games were in 1984 where he won a gold medal in the shot putt and a silver in the club throw. In the 1988 Summer Paralympics he won a silver in the shot putt and a bronze in the club throw he also won a gold in the Boccia as well as competing as part of the British Boccia team that finished fourth. In 1992 he attempted to defend his title but only finished third again competing in the British team, 1996 saw him again compete in the team and individual Boccia events, winning a silver in the Individual event. In 2000 he returned to the track competing in the club throw and winning a gold in the Discus, he stayed in athletics in 2004 competing in the shot putt before again competing in Boccia in the 2008.[1]
