Tom Cross (editor)
Tom Cross is an American television and film editor. He began his career in 1997 as an assistant editor, working on such diverse projects as We Own the Night, Crazy Heart, The Switch and several episodes of the Emmy-winning drama series Deadwood. He came to international prominence in 2015 when he won a BAFTA Award for Best Editing[1] and an Academy Award for Best Editing (among recognition from several critics' organizations) for his work on the acclaimed film Whiplash. [2] He has cited The French Connection and The Wild Bunch as influences on the editing of this film, and will reunite with writer/director Damien Chazelle on the upcoming romantic comedy La La Land.
Cross is of half Asian descent (Vietnamese). His wife is Latina.[3]
