Titanomaquia (Titanomachia) is the seventh album released by Brazilian rock band Titãs. It is considered by many their heaviest and most aggressive album. All songs are credited to the band as a whole (sometimes crediting the just-departed Arnaldo Antunes as well), as it happened in the previous album, Tudo ao Mesmo Tempo Agora. Also, Jack Endino was the first (and currently only) foreign producer to work with them.
Background
The album had a higher usage of cursing words (as can be seen in "Será que é disso que eu necessito?" and "Fazer o quê?") and aggressive lyrics.
The album featured unique songs, like "Disneylândia", in which all paragraphs make reference to globalization, one way or another (e.g. Filho de imigrantes russos, casado na Argentina com uma pintora judia, casou-se pela segunda vez com uma princesa africana no México, which translates as "Son of Russian immigrants, married in Argentina with a Jewish painter, has married for the second time with an African princess in Mexico").
As the name suggests (Dissertation of the Pope about crime followed by an Orgy), "Dissertação do Papa Sobre o Crime Seguida de Orgia" is also not sung, but spoken as a sequence of sentences covering the topic of violence, and providing examples of cruelty from all around the world (e.g. "Em Capodimonte, se uma mulher dá à luz a duas crianças gêmeas o marido logo esmaga uma delas", which translates as "In Capodimonte, if a woman gives birth to two twin children, her husband soon smashes one of them").
Track listing
All songs written and composed by Titãs, except "Disneilândia", "Hereditário" and "De Olhos Fechados", co-written by Arnaldo Antunes.

Trivia
- The introduction of "Fazer o que?" (What to Do?) was adapted from a fragment of Euripides (3rd century BC., Papiro de Viena G 2315).
- The words to "Dissertação do papa sobre o crime seguida de orgia" (Dissertation of the Pope about the crime before an orgy) were extracted from a book about Marquis de Sade.
