Tino-Sven Sušić (born 13 February 1992) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Hajduk Split and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
Early life
Born in Sarajevo, Sušić emigrated with his family early in his life to Belgium. He started training with the second-tier C.S. Visé, before moving to the youth side of KRC Genk. At the age of 16, he moved to Standard Liège. In August 2010, he was called up to the Belgium U19 side, featuring in two matches as a substitute, playing a friendly match for the Standard Liège first team as well. Not breaking through, he continued playing for the team's U21 and reserve sides.
Club career
Hajduk Split
In June 2012 he joined Croatian side HNK Hajduk Split on a four-year contract.[1] In the beginning he had problems adapting to the right wing role that Mišo Krstičević assigned him to. In November 2012 he scored his first goal for Hajduk in a cup game against RNK Split. Later in the spring part of the Prva HNL coach Mišo started using him as a defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder where he proved to be much better and quickly became an important first team player.
In April 2013 manager Igor Tudor took over Hajduk and he used Sušić mostly as a defensive midfielder where he proved to be the best. In the 2013 Croatian Cup Final Sušić proved to be amongst the best Hajduk players. He was the player of the match in the second game against NK Lokomotiva where he scored an impressive goal and later won that cup which was his first trophy in his career.
In the beginning of the 2013–14 Prva HNL because of some injuries he played a right wing role. Later in the derby against Dinamo Zagreb which Hajduk won by 2–0 he returned to his defensive midfielder role and was one of the key players of the match. The season was very successful for Tino - he made a career high 39 appearances in all competitions scoring three goals and assisting five more.
International career
Tino was eligible to play for Belgium, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In October 2013, Tino confirmed that he will only play for Bosnia and Herzegovina.[2]
On 5 March 2014 he played his first match for the national team in a friendly match versus Egypt at Tivoli-Neu in Innsbruck, Austria.
