Club career
Kaizer Chiefs
A virtually unknown quantity when he joined Chiefs during the 2002–2003 season, Nengomasha was dubbed by some news papers as a foreign flop, while his friend and country man Kelvin Mushangazikhe who came with him from Zimbabwe to Chiefs found the going tough and left, Nengomasha's fortunes were very different.
He quickly won the admiration of the Chiefs fans hearts and was nicknamed 'The General', for his ability to marshal the midfield and not allow any one to penetrate the Chiefs back line.In Zimbabwe he is nicknamed 'Father'
2003/04 Season
Nengomasha played a big hand in guiding Chiefs to the PSL title during the 2003–2004 season and was rewarded for his part in Chiefs title charge as he was named the PSL's players player and more importantly player of the year for that season.
Although he has only found two goals for Chiefs in close on to two hundred games, he does have the ability to find the space for the front men to exploit and find the goals they were looking for. Nengomasha would improve to be the mid field hard man for Kaizer Chiefs during the years and an automatic stater in most games. With his commanding presence in midfield and good passing ability, "the general" helped Chiefs win a lot of medals and was able to survive the cut and stay solid when team coaches were changed and certain players being released. Nengomasha is known for his "90 minutes no mistake" ability, being able to hold the ball well and distribute to all attacking positions. He formed solid partnerships with the likes of Thabo Mooki, John Moshoeu, Siyabonga Nkosi, Jabu Pule, and more through his excellent spell at Kaizer Chiefs. Many rate the Zimbabean as the best player for Kaizer Chiefs of the decade. After the 2011–12 season Nengomasha's talks of a new contract with Kaizer Chiefs failed to succeed and he then signed for Bidvest Wits on a 3-year deal. This move offended many "Amakhosi" lovers and it was criticised as the South African giants were accused and blamed to have neglected a player who served the team with loyalty through thick and thin.
Downward Spiral
Many had thought that the general had lost his way after failing to do what he did in previous seasons, as he had two average seasons by his standard in 2005–2006 and 2006–2007.
2007/08 Season
He has come back stronger than ever in the 2007–2008 season and has found a new lease on life, with the return to the Chiefs helm of Muhsin Ertugral the coach who gave him his debut at the Amakhosi during the 2001–2002 season. His return to form has been demonstrated by the fact that he is the only Chiefs player in the 2007–2008 season to have played each league and cup game this season.
Bidvest Wits
After the 2011–12 season, Nengomasha decided not to extend his contract any more and signed a three-year contract with another South African side Bidvest Wits.
Zimbabwean National Team
He was a member of the Zimbabwean 2004 African Nations Cup team, who finished bottom of their group in the first round of competition, thus failing to secure qualification for the quarter-finals. He also participated at the 2006 African Nations Cup, with the same outcome. On the 5th of September 2004 Zimbabwe played Nigeria in a Fifa World Cup Qualifier at the National Sports Stadium in Harare with Zimbabwe having Peter Ndlovu and Benjani Mwaruwari in the line up Tinashe played an outstanding game when Zimbabwe went down 3-0 to the Super Eagles with Julius Aghahohowa scoring in the 4th minute after a sublime pass from Okocha. 'Jay Jay' Austin Okocha was full of praises for the young star after the match this is the very game that got Charles 'CNN ' Mabika suspended by the Zimbabwe Telaevision for reporting deemed to have to much praises on the Super Eagles. Labelled as being "biased and unpatriotic" by ZTV executives for his praise of Nigeria's performance, his sacking was announced on the evening news two days after the 5 September match.
He was accused of paying too much attention to the skills of the Super Eagles and, in particular, midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha.
His excited description of the trademark somersaults of Julius Aghahowa, who scored Nigeria's opening goal, also came under criticism.
