Timothy Eggar
Timothy John Crommelin Eggar (born 19 December 1951) is a company director, a Governor of Shiplake College, an independent school for boys in the village of Shiplake in Oxfordshire, and is a former British Conservative Member of Parliament.
Eggar is the son of John Eggar and his wife Pamela Crommelin-Brown. His father was a cricketer and schoolmaster at Repton School and Shiplake College.
Education
Eggar was educated at Abberley Hall School followed by Winchester College, Magdalene College, Cambridge and The College of Law.[1]
Life and career
Eggar was MP for Enfield North from 1979 until he stood down in 1997. He had served as minister for Trade and Industry, Education and Science, and Employment. He was also Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
After leaving Parliament he went to work in the energy industry in the United States. He is Chairman of Harrison Lovegrove & Co Ltd, and Indago Petroleum, a non-executive Director of ExproInternational, and Anglo Asian Mining, and an independent member of a wind development investment committee.[2] He is a former President of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce. He is Chairman of Governors at Shiplake College.[3] Eggar is non-executive Chairman of the Board of Mycelx Technologies Corp., a clean water resource company, operating globally,[4] and is also a board member of Braemar Energy Ventures [5] and Chairman of Cape plc[6]
