Timothy R. Seder (born September 17, 1974 in Ashland, Ohio) is a former American football placekicker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Early years

Seder was a walk-on player at Ashland University. He led the team in scoring in each of his final three seasons, finishing with a school-record 41 field goals. He also registered 204 career points (fourth in school history). As a senior he recorded 64 points on 14-of-19 field goals and 22-of-24 extra points attempts. His 14 field goals ranked second in school history and earned him All-MIFC honors.

In 2013 he was inducted into the Ashland University Hall of Fame.

Professional career

Dallas Cowboys

Although he was out of football for more than two years,[1] Seder won the placekicker job over Rian Lindell, after signing as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys following the 2000 NFL Draft. He led the Dallas Cowboys in scoring with 108 points converting 25/33 field goals, all 27 point-after-touchdown opportunities, and had one rush for touchdown, which is believed to be the first one by a kicker in Cowboys history.[2] On November, 14, 2001, he was placed in the injured reserve list with an ankle injury, finishing the year with 11-of-17 on field goals and a 8 Yard Touchdown run in week 4 against Oakland. Seder scored two rushing touchdowns with the Cowboys. On September 1, 2002, he was waived, when the Cowboys decided to keep Billy Cundiff.

Minnesota Vikings

Seder was claimed by the Minnesota Vikings off waivers. He was waived on September 3, 2002 after spending just 1 day with the team.

Jacksonville Jaguars

On October 23, 2002 he signed as a free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars.[3] He was released on November 26. Seder finished 8 of 12 on Field Goals.

Philadelphia Soul (AFL)

On March 18, 2005, he signed with the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.[4] On September 28, 2005, he was traded to the Utah Blaze in exchange for Donny Klein.[5]

Kansas City Brigade (AFL)

He was waived on March 16, 2006.[6]

Personal life

He teaches health and coaches football at Dr. John D. Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas.
