Tile Hill Wood School is a secondary school with academy status for girls situated in Tile Hill, southwest Coventry, England. The current headteacher is Mrs Gina O'Connor.[1] The school has specialist Language College status.
Tile Hill Wood School and Language College is distinctive in two main ways: it is Coventry’s only single-sex girls’ comprehensive school and is a specialist college for languages and for vocational education.
The school was the first in Coventry to be awarded ‘specialist school’ status as a Language College in 1998.
Following its ‘high-performing’ award it has also gained Vocational Specialist School status in 2006. Being awarded ‘specialist school’ status brings many advantages to the school and has allowed us to develop such things as ICT resources and the school’s links with international partners. We have a strong focus on partnership, collaboration and innovation.
The school was last inspected by an Ofsted team in September 2014 (GOOD) and we are very proud of the report we received. Full details of its content are available from the school on request.
