Thunder, Lightning, Strike
Thunder, Lightning, Strike is the debut album by The Go! Team. It was released on British label Memphis Industries in 2004 and was nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize.
The album was re-released in the UK and the US by Columbia Records in October 2005. It was slightly remixed (due to sample clearance issues) and contains bonus tracks. It peaked at No. 48 in the UK in February 2006, some 18 months after its original release. It was co-produced by Ian's brother, Gareth Parton in their parent's garage in Swansea and mixed at The Fortress Studios, London.[1]
Reception
Reception for Thunder, Lightning, Strike was very positive. Pitchfork placed Thunder, Lightning, Strike at number eight in their top albums of 2004.[12]
Review aggregator Metacritic indicates a score of 86 (indicating "Universal acclaim").[13] Pitchfork later placed Thunder, Lightning, Strike at number 171 on their list of top 200 albums of the 2000s.[14]
