Through Being Cool is the second album by the American band Saves the Day. It has a more melodic sound than their first album, Can't Slow Down, which was a more punk/hardcore driven record. Through Being Cool was released one year after the band's first album with three of the members having been replaced in the meantime. At the time of the recording, Saves The Day consisted of Chris Conley, Dave Soloway, Ted Alexander, Eben D'Amico and Bryan Newman. Through Being Cool has been cited as one of the most influential pop-punk albums of all time, paving the way for the new wave of pop-punk.
On the disc, there is a picture of Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship and Midtown.
"Through Being Cool" is also the name of a Devo song, as well as a lyrical excerpt from the song "Unlisted Track" by Jawbreaker, a band which influenced Conley.

Alternative Press ranked this album on the top 10 most influential albums of 1999.
"Third Engine" was covered by Max Bemis from the band Say Anything and can be found on the self-titled album of Bemis and Conley's supergroup side project, Two Tongues. (Say Anything had earlier covered the band's "Jessie and My Whetstone".)
"You Vandal" was covered by the hardcore band xBishopx.
"Shoulder To The Wheel" was covered by the band Lostprophets.
"Holly Hox, Forget Me Nots" was covered by the band Hit The Lights.
On September 4, 2014,[6] Saves the Day and Say Anything have announced a co-headlining tour with support from Reggie and the Full Effect. The three bands will be celebrating anniversaries. Saves The Day celebrates 15 years since Through Being Cool; Say Anything has the 10th anniversary of ...Is a Real Boy, and Reggie celebrates Under The Tray.
