Thorpe-le-Soken railway station serves the village of Thorpe-le-Soken in Essex, England. The station is 1 mile from the village centre.
History
It was opened as Thorpe by the Great Eastern Railway on 28 July 1866 on the Tendring Hundred extension. It was renamed Thorpe le Soken on 1 March 1900.[1]
There are currently two platforms at Thorpe-le-Soken. They are both situated on an island platform, only accessible by a footbridge. There is a clearly visible platform and trackbed on what would be Platform 3. This is continuous with the stations on the Walton branch line, Kirby Cross, Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze. One of the double tracks that were originally on the line to Walton has been completely taken up.
