Thomas Hammond (born 1630)

Thomas Hammond (1630 April 1681) was an English-born merchant and landowner who married and settled in Norway. He was born in Suffolk, England in 1630, to landowner Edward Hammond (c.1595c.1660). He was the father of Sara Hammond, and the grandfather of Thomas Angell. Hammond settled in Trondheim, where he was involved in timber export to England. He eventually acquired land properties and forests, and was among the large merchants in Trondheim in the 17th century. He perished during the 1681 Trondheim fire (1819 April 1681).[1][2]
