Thippagondanahalli Reservoir
Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, also known as T G Halli Dam or Chamarajsagar, is located at the confluence of the Arkavathy River and Kumudavathi River, 35 km west of Bangalore, India. It is used by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) as a major source of drinking water for western Bangalore.[1] The lake is a man-made reservoir, created by the building of a dam which was inaugurated in 1933. Bharath Rathna Sir M Visvesvaraya supervised the construction work.
Water crisis
In the summer of 2007, the lack of rain in the watershed for the reservoir, along with use of the water for the city (BWSSB typically pumps 35 per day into the western parts of the city.) caused the lake to become nearly dry.<
Recreational use
Thippagondanahalli is also popular recreation location, especially during summer months. It is located in Magadi road. Best time to visit this place is September to February.

This is good place to capture. WE can get good landscapes,birds and Macro. I was been to this place on 26/04/2015 and adding few photos i was able to capture
Manchinabele dam
Manchanabele dam is nearby downstream. It is a trekking location.[2] It provides water to Magadi town, Kayaking also conducted here. Species of Water Snakes are also visible [3] However, the reservoir bed is a death trap with sudden fault-lines, large boulders as well as deep slush. More than 200 people have lost their lives between 2006 and 2011.[4] It is very dangerous to get into the waters in this reservoir even if one is a good swimmer.
