Thenua

Thenua (also known as Thenuva, Thenewal, Thinwal) is a gotra of jats found in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. They originated from the Tanwars. They are said to have decided to oppose the Mughal Badshah hence called Thenua.[1]

History

Thenuas were the rulers of Aligarh, Hathras, Khair, Vrindavan and Baldevgarh, Mohkampur, all in Uttar Pradesh.[2]
