The Theneeswarar Temple (Tamil: அருள்மிகு தேனீஸ்வரர் திருக்கோயில்) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Vellalore, near Coimbatore city in Coimbatore District,[1] western part of Tamil Nadu in state of southeastern India.[2] The temple is also referred as Sri Sivakama Sundari Ambal Samedha Sri Theneeswarar Temple. [3]

About the temple

Theneeswarar temple built by Karikala Cholan is located 7 km south of Coimbatore on the bank Noyyal river. This temple is major and big in the region. Also this temple is the second of its kind where we can find the 63 nayanmars in coimbatore district. This temple is believed to have many lands been occupied by others. This vellalore temple is believed to have murthy- sthalam - theertham which is most important feature for any great deity.
