The World of Divergent: The Path to Allegiant is an electronic book by the American writer Veronica Roth, released free of charge by HarperCollins on September 24, 2013.[2][3][4][5] It is a companion book to the Divergent trilogy, a young-adult science fiction series[1] whose third book, Allegiant, was published in print four weeks later, simultaneously by the HarperCollins imprints Katherine Tegen Books in the U.S. and HarperCollins Children's Books in the U.K.[1] Roth continues to write related fiction and The Path to Allegiant is a companion book to the entire so-called Divergent Universe[1] in many respects. The book contains exclusive detailed description of Factions and its origin, the inspirations for the trilogy, quiz on Factions and answers by Roth regarding the trilogy. The book also contained ten teasers[6][7] from Allegiant.[8][9]

Publication date

The book was originally slated for release on September 3, 2013,[10][5][11] but actually appeared on September 24, 2013.

Cover

The book cover is same as of Allegiant, except it does not feature O'Hare International Airport of Chicago and also has in bold the release date of Allegiant.[12]

Allegiant

The book includes 10 teasers from the final book of the Divergent trilogy Allegiant. It also has 8 different quotes from the different chapters of the Allegiant.[13]

On August 29, 2013, Entertainment Weekly magazine released a quote from the chapter seven of Allegiant by Tris featured in The World of Divergent: The Path to Allegiant.[13]

Reception

The book received positive response on its release. It got four out of five stars rating at Amazon.com[14] and four and a half out of five rating at Goodreads.[15]
