The Whispers is an upcoming American television series created and executive produced by Soo Hugh with co-executive producers Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Dawn Olmstead for ABC Studios.[2] It is based on the 1951 Ray Bradbury short story "Zero Hour" from The Illustrated Man.[3][4] The pilot episode, formerly known as "The Visitors", was ordered to series on May 8, 2014 and will debut on ABC during the 2014–15 television season as a midseason entry.[5][6] The series will premiere on June 1, 2015.[1]
Premise
The series explores what happens when an alien race from another world begins a mysterious and quiet takeover of Earth by using the most unlikely and unsuspecting inhabitants on the planet—the children.

Production
On June 11, 2014, it was announced that Brianna Brown, who was set to play Lena Lawrence, had exited the series due to creative reasons.[11]
Distribution
Seven Network will air the show in Australia.[12]
