The Wet Secrets are a Canadian indie rock band from Edmonton, Alberta.
History
The band was formed as the result of a dare between bassist Lyle Bell and drummer Trevor Anderson to form a band one week before their debut performance on February 19, 2005 at Seedy's in Edmonton.[1] During that week, they wrote and recorded their debut album, A Whale Of A Cow, which they released independently on February 19, 2005.[2]
The band's second album, Rock Fantasy, was released online on February 14, 2007, peaking at the #2 spot on the CBC Radio 3 charts.[3] It was later re-released independently on May 13, 2008, reaching the #8 position on Canada's national campus radio chart, !earshot, in June, 2008.[4] The album maintained this chart position in July, 2008.[5]
On January 8, 2010, Grant Lawrence of CBC Radio 3 listed their song "Secret March" as one of the Top 20 Best Songs of the 2000s.[6] In November 2014, the band won the first Alberta Peak Performance Project[7] and shortly after signed to Canadian record label Six Shooter Records [8]
