The game has been received to mostly average or mixed reception. On GameRankings it was given a score of 74.93% for the PlayStation version,[1] 54.58% for the PC version,[2] and 63.43% for the PlayStation 2 version;[3] while on Metacritic it was given a score of 63 out of 100 for the PlayStation version[4] and 47 out of 100 for the PC version.[5]

IGN gave the PC version of The Weakest Link a bad rating of 3.5 out of 10 overall criticising the gameplay for slow pace and the graphics by stating they were "drab".[15]
