The Voice Brasil is a Brazilian reality talent show. The Brazilian series premiered on September 23, 2012 on the Rede Globo television network.[1]
Selection process
Auditions
Cities where the auditions were held.
Online applications for The Voice Brasil were open from May 13 to July 23, 2012.[2] Selected applications were then called to regional auditions held in eight capital cities across Brazil:[3]
- June 2, 2012: Brasília, Distrito Federal
- June 9, 2012: Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul
- June 16, 2012: Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais
- June 29–30 and July 1, 2012: Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro
- July 11, 2012: Recife, Pernambuco
- July 13, 2012: Salvador, Bahia
- July 20–23, 2012: São Paulo, São Paulo
- July 28, 2012: Natal, Rio Grande do Norte
Over 20.000 singers sent online applications, but only 105 of them were selected to perform on the blind audition phase.[4]
Episodes
The blind auditions began in Rio de Janeiro on September 17, 2012. Each coach has the length of the artists' performance to decide if they want that artist on their team. Should two or more coaches want the same artist, then the artist gets to choose their coach. Once the coaches have picked their team, they are to pit them against each other in the ultimate sing off; the battles.
