The Vladimirov Diaries

The Vladimirov diaries: Yenan, China, 1942-1945 was a book written by Peter Vladimirov published in 1973 after his death. It recounts the events in Yan'an during the Second World War, particularly information on Mao Zedong.

Vladimirov died in 1953. His son edited his diaries and published the book in 1973 with the title Chinese Special Zone: 1942- 1945. Its English version was published by Doubleday Co. in 1975, titled as The Vladimirov Diaries (ISBN 0-385-00928-3). The diary has been criticized in mainland China as having been edited for Soviet propaganda purposes.
