The Trials of Cate McCall is an American drama film directed and written by Karen Moncrieff. The film stars Kate Beckinsale, Nick Nolte and Clancy Brown.

Plot

Cate McCall (Kate Beckinsale) is a troubled young lawyer who is in recovery, on probation, and estranged from her family. In order to regain custody of her young daughter Augie and be reinstated to the bar, this former hotshot lawyer must handle the appeal of a woman, Lacey, who has been wrongfully convicted of murder. Aided by her assistant, Cate pulls out all stops to prove Lacey's innocence, as well as move past her own alcohol and work addictions. Many men are out to discredit both Cate and Lacey, but she battles through the punches.
