The Red Menace (The Shadow)

The Red Menace was the fourth pulp magazine story to feature The Shadow. Written by Walter B. Gibson, it was submitted for publication as "The Shadow and The Reds" on April 17, 1931, and published as "The Red Menace" in the November 1, 1931 issue of The Shadow Magazine.

Summary

• Shadow Disguises: himself, Lamont Cranston
• Shadow Agents: Harry Vincent, Claude Fellows and Burbank.
• Plot: Berchik, the messenger of the late Prince Samanov, is hunted by communist agents of the Russian government, who now want to capture him, torture him, and wrest from him the name of the man who received the Prince's jewels. At the same time, however, they are also out to get the secret plans for an aerial torpedo being designed by Professor Arthur Whitburn in his secret laboratory on Death Island.
