The ninth season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, an American reality television series, premiered on April 14, 2014, concluded on September 8, 2014 and is broadcast on Bravo. It is primarily filmed in Orange County, California, with additional footage in Hawaii, Puerto Vallarta, and Bali. Its executive producers are Alex Baskin, Christopher Cullen, Scott Dunlop, Douglas Ross, and Gregory Stewart.

The Real Housewives of Orange County focuses on the lives of returning cast members Heather Dubrow, Vicki Gunvalson, and Tamra Judge; former cast members Alexis Bellino, Lydia McLaughlin, and Gretchen Rossi were replaced by Shannon Beador and Lizzie Rovsek beginning with the ninth season.

Cast and synopsis

Three of the five housewives featured on the eighth season of The Real Housewives of Orange County returned for the ninth installment,[2] while two new housewives were introduced.[3] Heather Dubrow revives her acting career; after selling their mansion, she and her family move into a two-year rental property while their new residence is built.[4] While managing their business CUT Fitness, Tamra Judge contemplates having a child with her husband Eddie.[5] Vicki Gunvalson is discouraged that her daughter Briana and son-in-law Ryan will likely relocate to Oklahoma, and struggles to resolve the personal conflicts between her boyfriend Brooks and Briana.[6] New housewife Shannon Beador embraces a holistic lifestyle, and clashes with her husband after struggling to balance her career and family life.[7] Another new housewife Lizzie Rovsek is unsure whether to pursue her designing career or have a third child with her husband Christian.[8]

Heather befriends new housewife Shannon. She later travels to Hawaii to film for Hawaii Five-O; Tamra and Vicki join her for the weekend trip, although they clash when Heather refuses to party. Meanwhile, Vicki's divorce from Donn is finalized, and Vicki finds difficulty managing the tension between her boyfriend Brooks and her daughter Briana.[10]

During a group dinner outing, Vicki and Lizzie develop a distaste for one another, while Heather and Shannon argue over the seating arrangement.[18]

Tamra accuses Heather of lying to her about having another gym to Good Day L.A. to compete with Tamra's gym C.U.T. Fitness.

After a frosty appearance on Good Day L.A., Tamra and Heather go to lunch in hopes of discussing their ongoing issues. Tamra reveals to Heather the severity of Shannon's failing marriage. During a visit from her mother, Lizzie judges a beauty pageant. Brianna and Ryan reveal the gender of their new baby to an anxious but excited Vicki. Shannon unexpectedly arrives at Tamra's house, upset about her marriage.
