The Other (punk band)

For the German horror punk band of this name, see The Other (band).

The Other was a San Francisco punk rock band. They combined a clever mixture of progressive writing and arranging with a pure punk backbone.[1] The band formed as a power trio in 1995. Recorded, produced and engineered by Ryan Greene[2] in late 1996, the band's first and only album was released in 1997 on Honest Don's Records, a subsidiary label set up to release material by bands that didn't fit within the roster at Fat Wreck Chords. Each Honest Don's Records release would have a unique variant on the record labels name. In keeping with this tradition, The Other's release sported the label name Honest Don's Snug Fitting Trousers.[2] Chris Rest and Richard "Bomer" Manzullo began their punk careers together in 1983 in punk band RKL.[3] Boz Rivera would later go on to join RKL in 2004.[4]
