The Notations
The Notations were an American soul group formed at high school in Chicago, Illinois in the late 1960s .
Career
The group recorded for Tad Records early in their career; they later recorded for Gemigo, a label run by Curtis Mayfield, and Twinight in the 1970s.[1] They scored several minor hits on the U.S. R&B chart, including their biggest hit "I'm Still Here", produced by Syl Johnson. They are perhaps best remembered for the 1975 funk single "Super People", which was produced by Curtis Mayfield on the Curtom subsidiary, Gemigo.
Their early lineup comprised Clifford Curry, the group's main lead singer, LaSalle Matthews, Bobby Thomas, and Jimmy Stroud; Stroud left the group in 1973 and was replaced by Walter Jones from 1973 until 1976.[1] Curry later saw moderate success as a solo artist and was still leading a three-main Notations group in 2015.
