The Mystery of the Strange Messages is a children's novel written by Enid Blyton and published in 1957. It is the fourteenth book in the Five Find-Outers series featuring Fatty, Pip, Larry, Daisy, and Bets.
Plot summary
When Mr. Goon, the local policeman, starts receiving anonymous letters, he blames Fatty, the leader of the Five Find-Outers. Although he realises his mistake, it is too late to stop the children investigating. Mr. Goon's nephew Ern plays a vital role in solving the mystery. The Mystery starts when Mr.Goon gets anonymous letters pointing towards a house which Mr.Goon couldn't understand. Then he calls Ern to be like a watch man for the letters. Ern passes all the letters to Fatty.At first they get an idea that Mr Goon's cook can be the culprit, as she had access to all the places where the messages were found. Fatty understands the meaning of the letters. He keeps a watch on the house pointed in the letter. He notices it is a well planned robbery of finding for the treasure in the house. But for the robbers there are 2 care takers. They were pointing the house to Mr. Goon because the male caretaker was a former criminal. But in last all becomes well and great.
