The Miniaturist
The Miniaturist is the successful, internationally published debut novel of English actress and author Jessie Burton.[1] The Miniaturist was first published in 2014. It took over four years to write, and was the subject of a publishing bidding war in April 2013 at the London Book Fair.[1]
The novel is inspired by Petronella Oortman's dollhouse now at the Rijksmuseum. It does not otherwise attempt to be a biographical novel.[2]
