The Mahogany Tree

The Mahogany Tree was a weekly[1] literary magazine published from January until December 1892.

Overview

It was started by Mildred Aldrich,[2] and it was supposedly 'devoted solely to the "fine arts"'.[3] As a review in The Harvard Crimson said, the aim was to 'give criticisms on books, pictures, music, and acting'.[2]

Contributors comprised Philip Henry Savage, Willa Cather,[4] Ralph Adams Cram,[5] Louise Imogen Guiney[5] and F. Holland Day,[5] amongst others.
