The Leap, Queensland
The Leap is a small rural community in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia.[1]
History
The area takes its name from its railway station which took its name from a local mountain.[1] There is a story that a local Aboriginal woman was being pursued by the native police in about the 1860s and chose to jump off a cliff rather than be caught.[2]
